Upgrade Your Gear: A Review of Mossy Oak Graphics Pistol Mag Skin Decals

in

If you spend enough time at the range, your gear starts to look like everyone else’s. Black polymer and steel magazines tend to blend into a sea of identical equipment. If you’re looking for a quick, durable, and highly personalized way to set your gear apart—while adding a layer of protection—magazine wraps are the way to go.

I recently picked up a sheet of Mossy Oak Graphics Pistol Mag Skin Decals (Texas State Flag edition) to give a few of my magazines a custom facelift.

What They Are & How They Work

Mossy Oak Graphics doesn’t just make standard stickers; they utilize premium, heavy-duty 3M cast vinyl. This is the same automotive-grade material used to wrap vehicles, meaning it is engineered to withstand heat, oil, solvents, and rough handling out in the field.

The package comes as a 13-piece sheet, giving you plenty of decals to wrap multiple magazines or replace older ones over time. Key features include:

  • Matte Finish: A non-reflective, glare-reducing matte finish that fits right in with tactical or outdoor gear.
  • Highly Conformable: The vinyl is designed to stretch and mold around the unique ridges and bases of your magazines without shrinking or cracking.
  • No-Residue Removal: If you ever decide to switch up the style, the 3M vinyl peels away cleanly without leaving a sticky, gooey mess behind.
  • Proudly Made in the USA.

My Personal Takeaways

I’ve tried a few different gear wraps in the past, but these are great mag skins. The first thing I noticed right out of the package is that the vinyl is thick and easily removed from the sheet. You don’t have to worry about the decals tearing or stretching out of shape while you’re trying to peel them off the backing.

When it came time to actually apply them, the size and shape worked well with my magazines. They lined up beautifully, adhered firmly, and accommodated the contours of the mag bodies without bunching up.

Visually, they look fantastic. The Texas and US flags are good graphics, and the printing is high quality. The colors are sharp and vibrant, but the matte finish keeps them looking rugged and professional rather than cheap or overly glossy.

Final Thoughts

If you want an easy DIY project that adds personality and protection to your range setup, you can’t go wrong here. They look great, they’re built to last, and the installation is completely foolproof.
